First off, I hope you enjoy using these apps! Get a few friends and give it a try. I love the concept of multiple phones working together socially. That is why I wrote this app to work on the iPhone and HP/Palm Pre, but I also wrote it so that the phones work together. The general idea is that you invite a bunch of friends over for a soccer or football game (SuperBowl and World Cup for sure). You decide you want to incorporate some of the "chance" games. Normally, you put quarters in a cup and pass it around. Maybe you put quality candy in a bowl. Maybe you have a grid of scores, and your guests randomly pick a square on the grid. Ultimately, teams score, and someone wins that cup of quarters. Or the game ends and someone happened to own the square of the final score. This game is similar but a new breed.

Everyone you want to play that has a iPhone or a HP/Palm Pre will start this app and enter the same game name and password. Then pictures will rotate from phone to phone every 3 minutes. When a team scores, the phone with the picture to match the score method wins. They get that cup of quarters, candy from the grab bag, they get to wear that special rainbow wig until the next winner, etc... Keep playing until the real football game ends. BTW - the pictures below will explain it more. I hope you enjoy. And if the app fails for any reason - just email me. I am highly motivated to fix it.

The pictures that rotate are the following:
  • Passing Play
  • Running Play
  • Kicking Play
  • Defensive Play
  • Special Teams Play
  • Out of Play (we can't all be winners)

    These will rotate every two minutes by default from phone to phone. A host can change this value to any number of seconds they choose. Five of you will have a picture that could result in a win. While the rest will have the "Loser" picture. This just means that they can't win until the next image swap. The more individuals you have playing, the less likely you are to win. But in your case, you will always win :) If the football team kicks a field goal, then the person with the "kicking" picture wins. If they score via throwing a pass, then the person with the "passing" picture on their phone wins. Then if its scored via a running play, then the person with that picture wins. Get it?

    PLEASE NOTE...WATCH THAT DATA PLAN!!
    This game makes calls out to the internet every three minutes. The message is small. But it will eat away at your data plan little by little. So please use Wi-Fi when possible. Also, pay attention to its affect on your data plan. I don't want you having to pay more money to the phone company for going over.

    JOIN A GAME
    Join a game by entering a user name, game name, and a password for your game. This user name is simply used to display on the phones so that others can see who has what pictures. The game name is just a random name that you pick. It can be anything...keep it appropriate please. Then the game password is only there so you can keep your game private and not have random others join. Imagine you start a game called "studs". Then some other dude in Boston randomly selects the same name. You guys don't really want to be part of the same game. So this password will make it so its first come, first served.

    GAME PLAY
    What you will see next is the game screen. It basically has "your" current picture on the top half of the screen. This is the picture that you are currently assigned. The bottom half of the screen will show all the three winning pictures and the name of the owner next to them. This way you can see who has the other pictures without having to look at everyone's phone. I know..I know..Nice touch!

    WINNING LOG
    ONLY ON THE iPHONE. I've incorporated a scoring log so the host can keep track of who has won throughout the game. Use however you see fit.

    There is some brief help information available. On the iPhone, tap the little round "info" button in the bottom corner. On the HP/Palm Pre, access the preferences menu and select "Help". But this web page tells it all.
